Jack & Elaine LaLanne: the TV fitness pair

He opened one of the first modern gyms in the US and took exercise to daytime TV. She co-hosted the show, co-wrote the books, and is still doing her floor routine at 100. Two long lives make a good story, not proof of a method: history remembers the people who lived long and forgets the ones who didn't (survivorship bias). Read this as a scrapbook. History and inspiration.

Worth noticing

These are patterns in two lives, not causes of anything. Both kept moving regularly well into late life, and both kept food plain. Elaine's routine at 100 starts before she gets out of bed and needs no equipment. Nothing here is a promise about how long anyone lives.
