Day 1 of 5 · ~5 min
Day 1: Wake the toes
Goal: notice each toe; spread without force. About five minutes. Barefoot or in wide/minimal shoes if floors are rough. Soft surface OK. Breath easy; no grinding into pain.
Start here: Wake the toes with four short drills. Stop if something hurts sharply. This is a movement snack for training, commuting, or a walk that actually happens.
Today’s goal
Notice each toe; spread without force. Time: ~5 min.
Steps
Every move has an easier and a harder option. Easier is not cheating.
- Toe lifts (big toe only, then lesser toes) — 8/side slowEasier: Do it seated. It’s fine if the toes barely move. · Harder: Pause 3 seconds at the top of each lift.
- Toe spreads against the floor — 5 slow holds (3 sec)Easier: Sit down and nudge the toes apart with your fingers first. · Harder: Stand up and shift a little more weight onto the working foot.
- Short-foot “dome” (gentle arch lift without curling toes) — 5 breathsEasier: Seated, with a tiny dome. · Harder: Standing, and hold the dome for the whole breath.
- Easy walk in place 60 sec noticing foot contactEasier: March slowly with a hand on the counter. · Harder: Go 90 seconds with quiet steps and your eyes on the horizon.
