How they differ
Underfoot. The Prio's 5.5 mm sole plus a removable 3 mm insole gives you two settings: more protection with the insole in, more ground feel with it out. The Primus Lite IV starts from a 2 mm outsole, so it sits closer to the ground.
Weight. Close. In a men's US 9 the brands list 247 g (Prio) and 239 g (Primus Lite IV) per shoe.
Returns. The biggest practical gap. Vivobarefoot gives 100 days for any reason when bought direct. Xero gives 30 days, and only for unworn shoes, so try them indoors first.
Which one fits your plans
Pick the Xero Prio if you want a thicker sole for pavement and the option to add or drop the insole as you adjust.
Pick the Primus Lite IV if you want the thinnest sole of the two and a long return window while you work out fit.
Check your size with the toe-box matcher before ordering either.
